Background March 2008 sees the Aberfeldy Gallery celebrate 25 years of trading. A quarter of a century ago, in 1982, Dr Walter Yellowlees had the foresight to see that the Kelles Garage premises on Kenmore Street would make a bright and spacious art gallery. The Aberfeldy Gallery opened its doors in March 1983, after much hard work, and was successfully run by Walter, his wife Sonia, and Roger and Merril Sylvester for 15 years. For the last 10 years the Aberfeldy Gallery has been run by Judy Proudfoot. Over 80 artists from all over Scotland take part in an ever changing exhibition of traditional, contemporary and fine art spread out over the gallery's 4 rooms. In 2003 the gallery expanded into the area of fine art paintings, and over the past 5 years has shown works by some of Scotland's best known artists. In addition to paintings the gallery also shows figures, sculpture, pottery, jewellery, glassware and wooden articles, both big and small. | ![]() |
